Test method: The flame retardant performance tester for safety helmets should be tested in a fume hood. The safety helmet that has undergone high temperature impact testing should be clamped onto the bracket in the direction of normal wear, with the side of the hood aligned with the flame nozzle. The axis of the flame nozzle should be adjusted to pass through the axis of the hood and be 50mm ± 1mm above the edge of the hood to avoid opening air holes; Adjust the position of the bracket so that the distance between the testing area of the safety helmet and the end face of the flame nozzle is 45mm ± 1mm, and then move it away; Open the gas volume control valve and adjust the flame length to 50mm ± 2mm, ensuring that the flame has at least 15mm of blue flame; Move the bracket to the previously determined position, and the flame acts on the cap shell for 10 seconds, cutting off the air source. Record the reignition time and possible penetration phenomena, accurate to 0.1 seconds.
Technical indicators:
1. Support: It can firmly clamp the safety helmet to ensure stable
position during the test, and can be moved to adjust the distance
between the safety helmet and the flame nozzle.
2. Timer: The reading error is ± 1%, used to record the ignition
time, accurate to 0.01s.
3. Timer: Display error ± 1%, used to determine the time when the
flame is applied to the safety helmet. The combustion time can be
set by oneself. After the flame is applied, the Bunsen lamp can be
moved away on its own. The timing range of the igniter is 0-999.9
seconds.
4. Flame height measuring device: The ruler is 50mm high.
5. Flame nozzle: A horizontally placed fuel nozzle with an inner
diameter of 10mm.
6. Fuel supply device: pressure regulating valve, gas volume
regulating valve, and gas storage tank device, which can ensure
that the flame nozzle can stably spray a blue flame of 50mm length.
7. Box: A sufficiently large box to ensure that the test is not
affected by wind.

10. Gas sources: methane, propane, butane, liquefied petroleum gas
(provided by the user).

Instrument features
